What to Expect
As Clinical Psychologists we do not prescribe medication, and in the event of a diagnosis, we can not issue a prescription directly. If medication is something you’d like to explore, some GP practices have recognised the quality of our assessments and prescribed medication based on our private diagnosis. We recommend discussing this with your GP in advance.
While medication can be helpful for some it is not a solution for everything or for everyone. For many, the most valuable part of managing ADHD is understanding how the brain works and finding strategies to support difficulties and live better. We aim to help you achieve this level of understanding and clarity, regardless of whether medication is part of your journey.
Our letter to your GP includes all relevant information about who we are and what we do, along with our contact details, so your GP can contact us directly if needed. This ensures you can make an informed decision before proceeding with the assessment. Please note there is a nominal fee of £25 for the letter. are happy to provide a copy of the report or a clinic letter to your General Practitioner (GP) to support medication titration, as long as they accept a private ADHD diagnosis and report. Please contact your GP to discuss this.
